It is not possible for mSpy to directly monitor Instagram photos and videos sent through Direct Messages (DMs). Despite this, there is a way to use its screen recorder feature. This can capture the screen when Instagram DMs are being looked at but only if they are viewed after installing mSpy and having screen recording running.

When it comes to monitoring Instagram activities specifically photos and videos exchanged using Direct Messages, mSpys effectiveness has been questioned in several occasions. Through my personal experience with mSpy, I have discovered a number of things about the software that led me to some creative ways around its limitations.

 

Direct Monitoring Limitations

As a monitoring tool, mSpy has limitations when it comes to Direct Messages or DMs. It is completely unable to access or oversee any form of communication on Instagram including pictures and videos that were shared within these private chats for instance on one’s child’s phone.

 

A Creative Workaround with Screen Recorder

However, as an alternative, there is this:

  • Screen Recorder Feature: It records live activity on the device when activated post-installation.
  • Capturing DMs: By viewing Instagram DMs while running the screen recorder, it will be able to capture such actions like seeing photographs and watching images.
  • Conditional Effectiveness: The essence behind this process is based on timing – Mspy will work well only if you view your DMs after Mspy installed it and starts recording your desktop.

 

My Insights on Using the Screen Recorder

The use of mSpy incorporated with screen recorder has been very useful in capturing real-time actions on my phone. This method does not directly help in spying on Instagram direct messages. However, under certain conditions—such as specific types of computers—itcan offer an insight into these exclusive interactions.

In summary, even though the tracking feature of mSpy Instagram cannot actually monitor DMs directly; its screen recorder provides a possible although limited alternative. This proves the importance of knowing what software for monitoring can do and cannot achieve.
